PRESIDENTNORM JOHNSONI began my bowhunting journey 36 years ago just after graduating high school. Growing up in Oregon gave me a very game rich environment with a wide variety of our western big game species to pursue. This only fueled the fire and cemented my passion for bowhunting which quickly grew into hardcore traditional archery. In 1987 I began making my own bows as a hobby and by 1991 my hobby turned into a full time business known as the Blacktail Bow Company.

Bowhunting over the last 30 years has taken me to 8 different states including Alaska, and Hawaii. The journey has landed me in some of the most remote and beautiful locations ever created by God. I joined the PBS in 1997. The PBS is an organization that aligns with my belief that we all have an obligation to use our time in the field to be both responsible and ethical. We as members should also be destined to pass on our knowledge and high ethical standards. The PBS has a very strong traditional culture yet and has an open door to all who are interested in learning and experiencing a level of achievement that technology may have otherwise denied them. The fraternal family atmosphere and high ethical standards are the backbone of the PBS and it is why I am still a member and continue to serve to the best of my ability.
