want to make your own video to add to our channel?
1) Process
- Watch some of the current videos first to get an idea of what we're going for
- Have a friend video you or setup a tripod and film yourself answering the questionnaire.
- Start and stop the video after each question to keep the files small so they are easier to send (ideally the maximum is 3 minutes per question).
- Take pictures of your old photos or scan them and send them so they can be spliced into the video and people don't get bored of staring at your face the whole time.
- Take some video of you shooting you bow, your trophy room, your bow and arrows, etc. so they can be spliced into the video. Include pictures of you and your family or anything that you mention while answering the questions.
*Pro Tips*
- Ensure your phone is sideways when filming. It matches the screen ratio of computers/TVs better than when the phone is upright. Do this for the photos you send as well.
- Place the phone close enough to the subject to get good audio.
- Ensure there isn't excessive background noise (the guy holding the phone is breathing heavily or a squeaky ceiling fan can ruin the audio).
- Make sure you have adequate lighting.
- Ensure the camera/phone is focused on the subject each time you hit record.
-Use a tripod or whatever you can wrangle to stabilize the camera/phone. Nothing is worse than shaky footage.
- Make sure the camera/phone is somewhat level with the subject, not down low or way above them.
- If using a phone we prefer IPhones over Androids because of the loss of quality that occurs when sending between the two types.
Members can email Shan Mandrayer the files at [email protected] OR text them to him at (760) 717-9871. Make sure you provide your first and last name and your city/state.
